At the conclusion of the Orientation Session, a potential volunteer may select one of the following programs in which to participate. Each program offers different volunteer opportunities and additional training.
● Adult Skills Enhancement (ASE) : Adult learners have skill levels that range from non-read through eighth grade level. Three hours more of training are required.
● General Education Development (GED): Students’ skill levels are at eighth grade and above and they are working to be able to successfully obtain a high school diploma by preparing for the GED test.
● Tutors One-on-One Program: Volunteers go through an additional 15 hours of training and learn how to assist an individual student at low skill levels or with learning disabilities with improving their academic skills.
